Elgg placement module within the Hull & Goole College Elgg system
Brief: To develop two modules for the elgg e-portfolio and social networking tool.
Download module - enables users to download their blogs and files to showcase, for instance to prospective employers. It also enables students to keep their materials once they have left the college.
Placement module - enables tutors, students and employers to interact during work placements, to determine which stage of their placement project they are at.
Technical: Allow users to download their files and weblog from elgg as a zip file. Enable tutors, students and mentors to interact during a work placement using web forms built into the elgg system. The data is then stored within the elgg database and was written to work with the elgg database schema. This project is part-funded by JISC.
My role: To design and develop an elgg module using the elgg API.
Client: Hull College and JISC.
